Dear Parents & Carers,

Update from Mr Perkins

Hello everyone!  What a packed half term! We have had many special moments this half term which has been really pleasing to be able to do after not having them for so long!

Last week, we held our first assembly of the year as Year 4 led us in a celebration of Harvest.  As I said, it was a true highlight of my week to see such confident children taking to the stage and singing so beautifully.  Well done again to the entire Year 4 team - children, Mr Allinson, Mrs Cowley and Mrs Yates - for such a wonderful performance.

In the afternoon, Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 had a special visit from a local author Sean Perkins who came in to share his book with the children.  It was a lovely experience for the children to speak to a published author and share his love of reading and writing with the children.

A date for your diary!  Our Autumn term parents evening will take place on Tuesday 9th November and Thursday 11th November.  I have decided that the appointments will take place online.  I will be sending out further information after the half term break to allow you to book your appointment.

I want to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support during this first half term.  I wish everyone a spooky, but safe, half term holiday.  I look forward to seeing the children back in school on Tuesday 2nd November at the usual time.

Absence from School

If your child is going to be absent from school could you please ring the school office by 9 a.m. on the first day of absence. If we have not heard from you as to why your child is absent, we will send a text message asking you to contact school asap. If there is no response to the text it will be followed up with a phone call and possibly a home visit if we have been unable to speak to you.

Visit from Sean Perkins

The children thoroughly enjoyed the visit from Sean and loved his book. If you would like to purchase one of the books please send £7 cash into school in an envelope clearly marked with your child’s name. We are taking orders until the 5th November.

KS2 Young Voices Choir Practise

The Young Voices choir will begin their weekly sessions after the half term break. The first practise is on Monday 8th November. There are still a few places available if your child would like to attend.

Congratulations

A huge congratulations to Aidan Prescot Y5W. Whilst playing rugby for Thatto Heath Crusaders he impressed the coach from St Helens LDRL and has now been selected to play for them. Well done Aidan
