Dear Parents & Carers,

Update from Mr Perkins

The end of another very strange and unique term has finally finished!  It has been great again to see how we have all pulled together as a school community to support each other; to look out for each other; to be there for each other during another difficult time. Thank you once again on behalf of the Governors and school team for your support over the past few weeks.  We are looking to make some changes to our school operation internally over the coming summer term including the return to hot school dinners.  However, for the time being, we will be continuing with the staggered start /end times and all other current measures.  I will let you know any further updates after Easter.  As always, we will be guided by official DfE and Government guidance as well as considering what is happening locally to ensure everyone remains as safe as possible.

I wish to finish on a positive note that better times are coming for us all and I hope you enjoy the Spring break with increasing members of your family and friends.  Keep yourselves safe and I look forward to seeing everyone back in school on Monday 19th April at your usual time

New Email Addresses

You may have noticed a couple of new email addresses above.  The office email inbox was getting overloaded with a significant amount of spam which was meaning on some days we had over 500 emails.  This meant that we were missing some important communication from you (our most important emails!)  By setting up a new email address, we will reduce the amount of spam we receive and hopefully not miss any important communication.

I have added a Head email address as well just in case I am not on the gate at the minute due to our Covid measures and you need to get a message to me.  However, the first priority for any questions or concern must still be your child’s class teacher, followed by Miss Haslam (Year 3-6) or Mrs Spilsbury (Reception to Year 2) before coming to me.  If it is a complaint, you must ensure that you follow the school’s complaint procedure.

Science Week

Thank you to all the staff, parents and children for partaking in what has been a wonderful week of Science. The children have had a great time, from the youngest to oldest, carrying out a variety of experiments and investigations.

The Great Egg-speriment has produced some amazing designs and scientific enquiry, that will hopefully inspire our children to become the engineers and scientists of the future.

It was a hard choice, but there had to be a winner of the Great Eggsperiment. The children were judged on maintaining the integrity of the egg and ingenuity of design.

The winners were...

Michael in Y2

Tyler in Y6

Easter Tombola and Bingo

A fantastic £375.00 was raised for school funds, an enormous thank you to you all for your generosity in donating the eggs and for buying tombola and raffle tickets.
