Below you will find a class handbook relating to life in Nursery

Class Handbook

Welcome to our Nursery class – a joyful, caring, and inspiring environment

where young children begin their first steps into the world of learning. In our

Nursery, we focus on helping children feel safe, valued, and excited to explore

the world around them.

At this stage, children learn best through play, exploration, and real-life

experiences. Every day is filled with opportunities to investigate, imagine,

create, and connect with others. Our carefully planned environment

– both indoors and outdoors – encourages children to make choices,

develop independence, and build confidence.

In Nursery, children learn through the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)

framework, which is built around seven key areas of learning and development.

Together, these areas provide a balanced, play-based curriculum that helps every

child grow into a confident, curious, and capable learner. Throughout the year

we will be following a number of exciting themes to capture the children's interests

including- people that help us, Growing and much more. We will also learn about

lots of Celebrations, such as Diwali, Christmas, Chinese New Year and Easter!

We really value the learning and development that takes place at home too.

There are several ways you can help to share this with us:

Wow Stars: Throughout the year we will send 'Wow Stars' home in your child's

book bag. This provides the opportunity to record any significant achievements

on the stars and share them with us by posting

them back in their book bag, we will celebrate these with the class on the day they return.

Each weekend, one lucky Nursery child will have the chance to take home our special Travel Bear!

This cuddly companion loves adventures and spending time with our families.

Whether it's a trip to the park, baking at home, or a cosy movie night, Travel Bear is excited to join in.

We encourage families to help their child add photos, drawings, or a short note to our Travel Bear Diary,

so we can share the fun together back at Nursery on Monday. It’s a lovely way to build confidence,

celebrate home experiences, and strengthen the link between school and family life.

We value working in close partnership with families and are here to support you every step

of the way as your child grows, explores, and thrives in Nursery. If you have any questions/queries,

please do not hesitate to chat to one of us during home time/registration or contact the school office.

We look forward to a year o learning, growing, and fun together!
