Year 3P 2019 - 2020
Challenge: Read at home every night with your parents and get your reading record signed. Can you do it?!
Don’t forget to look out for postcards home to let you know when your child has done exceptionally well at school.
PE – Please ensure that PE kits are always kept in school. PE days are Monday and Wednesday. For outdoor PE, you can also bring your trainers.
Water bottles – Please ensure that your child has a water bottle in school.
Homework – Homework will be given out every Friday. Homework is due in on Wednesdays. In Year 2, homework will consist of reading five times a week, completing a maths sheet and an activity from the homework grid (which will be sent out on the 21st September).
Snack – Children will have free milk and fruit every morning at playtime or they may wish to occasionally purchase food from the snack shop when available.
Readers – Home readers will be changed regularly. Please ensure that you write a comment in the log each time you read with your child. Children benefit from reading 4-5 times a week with an adult at home, please do this if you can. Your child will also bring home a library book that will be changed once a week.
Times tables - We will have a times table challenge each week, with a test on Friday. We will be learning them in the following order: 2x, 10x, 5x, 3x. A certificate will be rewarded when they know each table. We will also be practising our times tables on Times Table Rockstars.
Spellings will now be completed at school, Monday to Thursday, then tested on Friday.
Reading Club will take place on Monday and Friday at lunchtime.

Over the holidays, please keep reading with your children! Also, please remember to return your child's PE kit when we come back to school. Thank you!
