What’s going on in Reception?
Teachers: Mrs Aspinall and Mrs Reid
Teaching Assistants: Miss Ashton, Mrs Farrell and Mr Geraghty
Welcome to our class page. Here you will find all of the exciting things that we have been doing. Please make sure that you check here regularly so that you can keep up to date with our latest news.
In Reception children learn together in an environment which is developed around their interests. We pride ourselves on being an exciting and engaging place to be and encourage our children to be independent learners through a range of practical activities which are planned to scaffold and extend their learning. We follow a learning challenge curriculum that is instigated from children’s interests which allows us to be creative with our lessons and let the children lead their own learning. We are looking forward to what is going to be an exciting year as we join the children on their learning journeys!
PE will be on a Monday and all children will be required to have their PE kits in school. Children are required to wear a white T-shirt, black shorts and black pumps.
A home task will be set each Friday via our weekly newsletter. Home tasks are an important way that you can support your child at home. Please help your child to complete these tasks ready for them to share the following week.
Children have settled into Reception really well in their first week as they embark upon their school journey with us. The children have explored their new environment with enthusiasm. Here are just some of the things we have been up to…
Junior Chefs’ Academy
All of the children have really enjoyed being Junior Chef’s for the morning. They listened really well to Chef’s instructions and made their own key lime pies.
Reception had a visit from the police! They got to see the inside of a police car, and dressed up like policemen! We had a really lovely time.
Post Office Visit
We went on a visit to the post office, it was lots of fun!
We had a visit from a postman - he spoke to us about his job.
